Inner Child Healing course January 2023

This Inner Child Healing course is designed to help you to connect with your inner child, understand their pain and how this affects your behaviour and relationships day to day. It is a course that supports in the development of a better relationship with ourselves and others, promoting self esteem and radical love and acceptance towards ourselves, which ultimately improves our emotional wellbeing.

We all have an inner child, it is the part of us that feels vulnerable, defensive and wounded. Our inner child simply wants to be loved, be seen and heard, be creative and play but is so often ignored and supressed. The inner child also has a habit of taking the drivers seat in situations that require the adult and not the child! Ever completely lost your cool over something fairly minor? Made a decision and regretted it afterwards? Acted out of fear rather than courage? Are you unable to communicate your feelings, needs and boundaries in your core relationships? Are you a people pleaser? Are you afraid to be alone? Have you lost your creativity because your internal voice tells you that you just aren't good enough or that it's silly or a waste of time? These are just a few of the issues that are associated with childhood wounds.

Inner child healing is a powerful modality when it comes to healing childhood wounds and learning to re-parent ourselves. Through inner child healing we are able to re-frame our childhood experiences, fully acknowledge and grieve for the experiences we had, and learn to change our habits and behaviours that have developed from our childhood pain. We often see the statement 'you just have to love yourself more' and this is HOW we do it. We spend our whole lives wanting to be saved, but what if you could be your own hero?

This course is delivered in 6 weekly 2 hour sessions via zoom. The group will be limited to a maximum of 12 participants to ensure a safe and intimate journey. Over the 6 weeks we will look at:

  • Meeting the inner child

  • Getting to know the inner child

  • Recognising the inner child

  • Parenting the inner child

  • Building a relationship between the inner child and adult

  • Empowering the inner child

The sessions will include guided meditations, creative activities and discussions. You are invited to share your experiences with the group and as such respect and confidentiality for the group must be adhered to. Also there is no expectation for anyone to share anything with anyone. Please note that this work can bring up old memories, which can also bring up old feelings. You will need to assess your suitability to participate in a course that can bring up difficult feelings and your ability to work through these. As such if you feel you would need some professional support such as a counsellor or therapist to support you through this process, it would be advisable to discuss with them prior to booking onto this course. It is also important to let your loved ones know that you will be participating in this course and how it may affect you so they can provide support and understanding at this time.
